The Endowment Fund

An endowment is money that is invested rather than spent—creating a permanent source of funding.

Raise $10 million from donors.
Invest the principal.
Spend only the annual investment earnings (e.g., 4–5%) on scholarships, sports programs, and operations.
Keep the original $10 million invested so it continues generating income year after year.

This creates a permanent source of funding.

Keep Your Money Growing

YLLC can protect its finances by:

  • Building an endowment fund
  • Maintaining a cash reserve for emergencies
  • Diversifying revenue instead of relying on one donor
  • Hiring a qualified accountant and independent auditor
  • Investing according to a board-approved investment policy
  • Reinvesting a portion of annual profits back into the organization

Our Vision

A model like this can help YLLC become financially sustainable over the long term while supporting youth development, academics, and athletics.
